Our history

Recognising a need to support vulnerable families in Bradford, founder Vickie initially set up Bradford Baby Bank from her home in late 2017.

With no paid employees, we rely solely on volunteers to source, sort and distribute items needed by vulnerable families across the Bradford District.

Our ability to help relieve some of the impacts of poverty is reliant on the generosity and kindness of others. Since we began, our referral rate has rocketed and our impact across Bradford is significant.

Board of Trustees

Vickie Jubb

With 25 years of experience as an Educational Psychologist in Bradford, I am now focusing my efforts on fostering the growth and development of the Baby Bank.

As the Chair of BBB, I am inspired by the wonderful support we receive from the local community in Bradford and beyond.

Danuta Petrie

I worked as a specialist Pre-5 teacher with children with SEND and their families during challenging transitions, often witnessing the difficult conditions they faced.

I organise the BBB base with a wonderful team of volunteers and connect with various community groups to promote fundraising activities.

Emma Clarke

I work in sustainability for the NHS helping to manage waste and reduce the organisation's environmental impact.

I am the baby bank Treasurer, keeping an eye on our spending. Outside of work and BBB, two children occupy my time.

Anne-marie

I come from a background working within charities, and am also mum to a little girl.

My role at BBB is helping with the day-to-day admin, referrals, and anything IT related.

Helene Terry

I've spent my entire career focused on early years, working in both social care and education. I'm a retired Early Years Ofsted Inspector and currently serve as a nursery school governor.

At the baby bank, I'm the Safeguarding Lead, making sure that our practices and policies keep children and families safe while also protecting our amazing volunteers.

Josie Dickerson

I was born and bred in Bradford and am passionate about making this wonderful city a fairer and healthier place for all families.

I am a research director at Born in Bradford, specialising in early years and health equity. For BBB, I support funding applications and share relevant evidence-based practice.

Andrea Halligan

I'm a proud Bradfordian and a self-employed businesswoman.  I've volunteered with the baby bank right from the start and it's been an incredible journey to see how much we've grown and made a positive impact together.

I support our fantastic team of volunteers by organising social events and help with the day-to-day running of the baby bank.

Volunteer drivers and sorters

Most of our volunteers also volunteer elsewhere and are true community heroes. Thanks go to each and everyone for stepping up to support where it’s needed.
