Recognising a need to support vulnerable families in Bradford, founder Vickie initially set up Bradford Baby Bank from her home in late 2017.
With one part‑time referral administrator and no other paid employees, we rely heavily on our dedicated volunteers to source, sort and distribute essential items for vulnerable families across the Bradford District.
Our ability to help relieve some of the impacts of poverty is reliant on the generosity and kindness of others. Since we began, our referral rate has rocketed and our impact across Bradford is significant.

Chair of Trustees & Safeguarding
With 25 years of experience as an Educational Psychologist in Bradford, I am now focusing my efforts on fostering the growth and development of the Baby Bank.
As the Chair of BBB, I am inspired by the wonderful support we receive from the local community in Bradford and beyond.
Community Engagement Co‑ordinator
I worked as a specialist Pre-5 teacher with children with SEND and their families during challenging transitions, often witnessing the difficult conditions they faced.
I organise the BBB base with a wonderful team of volunteers and connect with various community groups to promote fundraising activities.
Treasurer
I work in sustainability for the NHS helping to manage waste and reduce the organisation's environmental impact.
I am the baby bank Treasurer, keeping an eye on our spending. Outside of work and BBB, two children occupy my time.
Human Resources Trustee
A mother of 2 adult daughters and a grandson, my career in HR was in both the private and charitable sectors, including a large national children’s charity and an addiction service.
I am also an independent visitor for a young person in care. I am passionate about supporting children and families.
Our volunteers and the wider community make BB special both for the families in need and each other, there’s generosity of time, spirit and courage to make a difference.
The power of our people is a real source of joy and strength in our fantastic city.
Volunteer Engagement & Safeguarding
I'm a proud Bradfordian and a self-employed businesswoman. I've volunteered with the baby bank right from the start and it's been an incredible journey to see how much we've grown and made a positive impact together.
I support our fantastic team of volunteers by organising social events and help with the day-to-day running of the baby bank.
I was born and bred in Bradford and am passionate about making this wonderful city a fairer and healthier place for all families.
I am a research director at Born in Bradford, specialising in early years and health equity. For BBB, I support funding applications and share relevant evidence-based practice.
I come from a background working within charities, and am also mum to a little girl.
I am the Referral Coordinator at BBB, and my role is to keep track of referrals as they come in and liase with our referrral partners and families. I also deal with most things IT related.
We have over 35 dedicated volunteers who support our work, both at our base and through delivering items directly to families. Most of our volunteers also volunteer elsewhere and are true community heroes. Thanks go to each and every one for stepping up to support where it’s needed.
